QUILT BLOCK CONTEST FALL 2009
Held on Friday, November 27, 2009

The quilt block size, 15"x15" in size, should be in fall colors. Prizes of $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place will be awarded to the winners. Rules for the contest are the following:

     1. Anyone is eligible to enter.

      2. The finished size for the block is 15"x15". The size
         of the block with the seam allowance is 15 1/4"x15 1/4".
         You will need to add a 1/4" seam allowance on all sides.
         Do not quilt the block; these blocks will be sewn into a
         quilt.

      3. Use only 100% cotton fabrics. The block must be in fall
         colors, a combination of (solids and prints). The block must
         be machine stitched. You may choose any style pattern. A
         block that has been cross-stitched, counted cross-stitched,
         appliqued or embroidered cannot be entered.

      4. Quilts will be judged by the following criteria:
         a. Overall appearance.
         b. Use of color coordination.
         c. Appropriateness of fabric.

      5. There will be first, second and third place winners. All
         blocks become the property of Meadows Quilt Auction and
         will not be returned.

      6. You may enter only one block per person. To enter send an
         entry fee of $1.00 and a stamped business size No. 10
         envelope. A newsletter will be sent listing all winners.

      7. On a 3x5 paper, print name, address, telephone number
        enclosed with your 15"x15" quilt block, entry fee and
        stamped envelope. Entries must be mailed no later than
